Te Awa Glamping is located in Taumarunui, only a stone's throw away from the mighty Whanganui River, a river which is such a huge part of New Zealand's story. Located deep in our family farm with private beach access, you can arrive by jet-boat, canoe, air or road.
Our luxury tent offers everything you'll need to unwind, or if you're an active relaxer, you can grab your bike and explore the range of trails in the area, hire a canoe or jet boat down to the Lavender Cafe or explore New Zealand's wondrous Forgotten World with one of the Forgotten World Adventures tours. Fishing is hugely popular along this stretch of river and deer hunting is an option close by. We are located only 40 minutes from Tongariro National Park for either summer or winter activities. You can spend as much or as little time here as you please without being disappointed or bored!

We have a kitchenette which has the basic equipment to prepare meals, including a cook-top and fridge, as well as an outdoor brazier and hot plate if you wish to cook on the fire. All bookings are welcomed with a local hamper - filled with freshly baked bread, condiments, seasonal fruit, locally-made muesli, tea, coffee and a few other surprises we think you’ll love.

Creating a luxury glamping site on our farm was a natural decision for our family of four. We love people and believe in the concept of manaakitanga, sharing hospitality with others so they can relax and enjoy the blessings we have at hand here in New Zealand. Being in such an incredible location we are proud to show off the amazing landscape and many activities nearby.
