Situated at the end of the naturally formed boulder bank that makes up Cable Bay, connecting the Island to the mainland, this hut is only 30 minutes drive from Nelson City. The beautifully scenic island is a working sheep station, wintering over 2,000 sheep, and around 100 cattle. As a privately owned farm, we love to give you this opportunity to experience the best of its incredible and incomparable landscape. At 1,316 ft high from sea level, and an area of 1,280 acres, the steep and rocky hills roll down through paddocks and native bush, ending at the ocean with towering cliffs and hidden pebbled beaches, the island is a unique example of distinctive land form and terrain.
Experience a two hour private tour of a New Zealand sheep station and head out with farmer Andrew on the 4WD. Travel around the Island and enjoy the spectacular views and landscape. Observe Andrew and the sheep dogs at work, see farm animals, and maybe see kiwi sheep shearing in the beachfront woolshed. This is a chance to explore the inner workings of a sustainable New Zealand sheep farm, with an experienced and knowledgeable farmer. Finish up with a farmer's style morning or afternoon tea, while you get all your questions answered.

Hi! I'm Danielle. My husband Hayden and I manage the tourism business on Pepin Island. We love little unique accommodations that are surrounded by native bush, sea, rolling hills and farmlands which provide a peaceful and relaxing stay. Answer: Hello Louise, yes you can drive here from Nelson, about a 30min drive, go down Cable Bay Rd and there is a natural boulder bank that you can drive across to Pepin Island.
